Chashme Baddoor (2013) Reviews

  • Brilliant acting though....

...Though the story and plot has it's missing parts. The story evolves around three friends:Sid, Jai and Omi. Sid falls in love with their neighbor girl Seema and Jai and Omi tries to get their friend back by telling him lies about this girl. So will Sid trust them or will he leave Seema? That is the what this movie is about. The big minus in this movie is Ali Zafar. Divyendu Sharma and Siddharth are just amazing in their roles. I thought this was like a "Gangster Crew" who pranks people and make jokes and that is exactly what Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma does. But Ali is just playing the nice guy who is the smartest at his class. I thought it would have been the opposite, that he actually was a member of the "Gangster Crew". But it wasn't and that is what leaves you disappointed and even if this is a remake of an older movie. They could have changed a bit in the plot. So Ali is a huge minus point. But at the meantime the unexpected other two are marvelous and brilliant. They save the movie with their pranks, jokes and one-liners. Rishi Kapoor is also funny and he shows a different look in this movie. Anupam Kher leaves you with a laugh every time he comes on the screen. Tapsee Pannu is decent and does a good job in the role of Ali Zafar's girlfriend Seema but her dialogue "Dum Hai Boss" can get annoying after the first few times. Overall it's worth the watch and you will enjoy it but in the meantime you will be disappointed with Ali Zafar's character.

  • Baddoor Cannot Be Buddoor

Sir, is this your idea of remaking a film that you admire? Sir, you cannot just discard the film's soul, which had made it into a coveted entry in the library of Indian cinema, and just process the skin. Sai Pranjpe's Chashme Buddoor wasn't just a comedy, it was an ode to the vagaries of the city's lifestyle. It was a brilliant character study filled with memorable moments. Making your film "badder" (the cue in the title) to match the modern bad world, without backing it up with anything substantial, hardly counts. The new Omi's rhymes fall flat compared to Rakesh Bedi's poetry. As stand-alone movie too, it fails to impress. Ram Gopal Varma made the same mistake with Aag, though your effort isn't horrendous like RGV's, it still comes across empty. Why attempt something if cannot raise or at least match the bar? Some shoes are hard to fill.

  • Entertainment Entertainment Entertainment!!!!

Total Paisa Wasool Full to Comedy Movie The movie revolves around three friends Sid, Jai and Omi (Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma respectively), who live together in a small house in Goa. Living life large is their motto, but the only thing that doesn't seem to work for Omi and Jai is that no woman is interested in them. Sid, on the other hand, lives a normal life. The two womanizing slackers, Omi and Jai make an attempt to woo the new girl in their neighborhood, Seema (Taapsee Pannu). Soon, a series of lies, secrets and comical situations follows. The Film is start to end goes constantly in same line and didn't get down. Ali Zafar again prove that he is not just fantastic singer but he is very light hearted and very good to fit in this role. Divyendu Sharma is Surprise Package in this movie with his Dynamic Poetry. Sidharth Narayana is one of the most Brilliant actor and done a very good comedy. Tapasee Pennu Have Dynamic Entry in Bollywood. Her Cuteness and Smile Make movie very beautiful and good. Rishi Kapoor perform as usual brilliantly. David Dhawan done Again fantastic Direction and prove again He is best in Comedy. Music is also very light hearted. The different type of Music is really Appreciable from Sajid-Wajid. Dhichkyaaon Doom Doom,Early Morning,Har Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai are bang on. The movie USP of movie is it doesn't feel Boring for second also. Overall a good light hearted Comedy Movie after long time which don't have big names in Main star cast. So Go to theater and watch it and Enjoy. Rating:3.8/5

  • Laughter at It's Best!

CHASHME BADDOOR is a comedy/romantic movie directed by David Dhawan, starring Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma. This film is a remake of the 1981, CHASHME BUDDOOR, with the same storyline. The film revolves around three guys, Omi(Divyendu Sharma), Jai(Siddharth) and Sid(Ali Zafar). Three of them are broke, living in a guesthouse, finding some way to not pay rent. A new girl moves in named, Seema (Tapsee Pannu) and Omi and Jai, being the usual, try to woo her but fail. They are surprised when Jai, the studious guy, manages to get her. And the rest of the movie shows what Omi and Jai try to do. Now, I haven't seen the original Chashme Buddoor but I think its safe to say that when I exited the cinema, I had laughed way too much and I was upset as hell to acknowledge that the movie had ended. THIS MOVIE IS HILARIOUS... and pretty much ONE of the best movies of the year. Now don't get me wrong, there are much more sensible movies out there which have released in the 2013 cinema but David Dhawan has managed to make this movie shine. The story starts to fade halfway but you really don't seem to care because as long as the laughs keep coming, you are happy. Don't expect the world from this movie, but just expect a weak storyline and hell load of laughter. The reason why I give this movie a 9 and not a 10 is due to the times I felt that the romance between two of the older characters isn't needed. I quite liked it, yet I felt it needed a bit of more excitement to it. Performance wise, I felt that Divyendu Sharma and Siddharth were the best out of the three of them. Normally you would think that Ali Zafar would be the best, but in this film he had to play an innocent guy. He does his role extremely well but it doesn't balance with Divyendu and Siddharth's acting due to their slapstick characters. To be honest, Taapsee Pannu's acting wasn't very grand, and Rishi Kapoor's acting was finesse, as always. Anumpan Kher's acting was quite comical but quite better compared with his role in Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum. The replay value of this movie is quite high. I don't mind seeing the movie again in the cinema. It's worth the money and the second serving of popcorn! The music is quite good. Songs like, "Har Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai", "Early Morning", "Ishq Mohallah" and "Dichkyaon Doom Doom" were quite pleasant to listen to. Songs like, "Andha Ghoda Race Mein Dhoda" were quite mad yet funny when you watch it due to Siddharth's dance moves. In the end, I will say that this movie is exactly what I said on the top, its Laughter at It's Best! There are songs that will mike you groove to the beat, jokes that will make you laugh out loud and one- liners coming at your way. If you haven't seen this movie, I recommend it strongly, if you want a weak story and a hell load of jokes, with a lot of thought into it!

  • teenage watch but good fun

well movie is 'hilarious' but it is for young generation ...... Cashmere Bad door (2013)is a good watch especially for all youngster's and particularly people who want to get out of their depression phase.ALI Z AFAR acting is marvelous he has performed well in this movie. He could potentially hit a gold mine with David's Cashmere Bad door. This new film is deliberately raucous, garishly colorful, masterfully kitschy – has such a relentless supply of energy and silliness. The director has spread nothing else but 'Laughter' to the world with his entire Filmography. The master of Comedy David Dhawan comes back with a Bang i can summarize it like that: "it was a teenage watch but good fun"
