All Is Well (2015) Reviews

  • All Is NOT Well!

    jmoneyjohal2015-08-21

All Is Well is a film I actual really tried to like, I am mean even as I write this review I am trying to think of the films best parts but there were not many, the film was just plain boring. I usual lap Bollywood melodrama, if done well a good melodrama that talks about family, parents etc leaves tear is your eyes. All Is Well however doesn't have the emotional connect at all, the story seems half balked, and even if your going down the clichéd, predictable story route it has to be done well. All Is well fails on that accord too, what we are left with in the film is a few laughs here and there. The films story is about man named Inder who lives in Bangkok and is trying to become a famous singer, but he is struggling to do so. When we get to know his back story we find out he left his house in India 10 years ago because he couldn't stand his dad, who was a failed bakery owner, and wanted him to join his business. He grew up watching his father fight with his mom, and struggle to make ends meet. Inder therefore has a lot of hatred for him. Seeing his parents failed marriage Inder also does not believe in getting married, therefore leaving his girlfriend Nimmi hopeless and forced too get arranged marriage back in India. However things take a U-turn when Inder is conned to go back to India, and finds out his dad has a 20 lakh loan to payoff. His father is hell bent in not selling his bakery to payoff the money, and Inder is now stuck in India, having to pay off his father loan some how. They then after eluding the loan shark Cheema, go on a road trip with his mother who now has Dementia and his girlfriend. The road trip is taken to get his moms Gold Jewelry, from his Uncle who she left the Jewelry with so they can payoff the loan. Thats the films main crux, and to find out more rush to theatres. Acting wise Abhisek Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor lead the pack and are good in there roles. Asin, and Supriya Pathak have half baked roles. But it is Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub who steals the show, his scenes make you laugh, he is fantastic. Coming from the man who made OMG one of the best Bollywood films in recent times I excepted more from Umesh Shukla, looks like he is back to the Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge days, his film looks like a small budget dated film. And whats with AB Jr's changing looks? Overall AIS is more of DVD watch, I mean other then Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub comic act, and couple of other comic sequences, there is nothing much to see in the film. Its highly predictable, and clichéd, and the emotional scenes fall flat. All is not well! 2/5* or 4.5/10

  • Four Idiots. ♦ Grade F

I am going to describe the four main characters of the film; it will be enough for you to decide if you should watch this utter fail at filmmaking. Junior Bachchan plays an arrogant son of a Punjabi sweet-maker who is now living in Bangkok after having run away from his house as a teenager on account of his father's abusive nature. Comparing his expressions to that of a wood would be an insult to the latter as he goes about ignoring the umpteen requests made by his presumed spiritual girlfriend who is desperate to marry and get laid. Playing his on-screen father is the talented Rishi Kapoor who unanimously wins the competition among the cast for overacting. Supriya Pathak makes being a mental patient look like the seven tests of hell. Last but not the least, Asin's Air India flight from Mumbai (and Bollywood) leaves this week. Within the first ten minutes one learns how laziness played a significant role in the making of the film. Who else would play an emotional song in between sequences where the characters are delivering dialogs important to the plot? There's only one thing that you would do after watching the film and that is feeling bad for the actors. BOTTOM LINE: All Is Well is a brilliant lesson in how to not make a film. GRADE: F VERDICT: Skip for life. Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES

Simply awful. That's the correct word I have for this movie.Terrible direction and terrible script.Disgusting Cinematography. If you have excess time utilize it but don't go this movie or never watch it even on piracy. The junior Big B should rethink why he is continuing acting and selecting this kind of movie. The heroine is in this movie but for what reason she knows! The only reason I have given it one is for two reason! 1) The utilization of the original score from 90's was pathetic but you will feel nostalgic. 2) Rishi Kapoor tries to give the movie a shape. So my advice don't go and don't let anyone go! Please visit We love to share movie group in Facebook for more reviews.

  • All Is Well- But Not For The Audience Of This One

    bollywoodirect2015-08-22

This is an ad for the book Secrets masquerading as a movie It's also silly, maudlin, reliant on slapstick and ludicrousness and has one of the worst soundtracks in recent memory Abhishek returns home from Bangkok after ten years to find his dictatorial, stingy father, Rishi Kapoor, deep in debt to the local toughie, Zeeshan Ayub, and his mother, Supriya Pathak, suffering from Alzheimers. Salvation could lie in some jewelry, left in the safe- keeping of his mother's brother. Or the sale of his Dad's bakery – which the Dad is fundamentally against. Thus begins a ridiculous, hare-brained 'adventure', which also involves Asin (who reads Secrets everyday), and is about to go in for an arranged marriage, but wants to get married to Abhishek, only he is too grumpy / anti-marriage (having seen his parents loveless one) to do so… Along the way, the father-son bicker and try to resolve their issues, the toughie's gang stumble and fumble their way around, stupid caricatures of Punjabi families abound, while Asin gives lovelorn looks and sheds silent tears. The performances are average – the only one who impresses is Zeeshan – and the music is downright terrible. The second half, towards the end, improves a bit and does make a few valid points but it's lost in the midst of the overall silliness. This is definitely a film that is the complete antithesis of its title… Written By Apurv Nagpal author of Eighteen Plus for Bollywoodirect.com

  • A light hearted Family Drama

    ankurlkw2015-08-21

All is Well is a light hearted movie. Its a good effort which could have been made better. It doesn't have the melodrama which we can see in recent movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Brothers, where people cry for no reason just to catch attention. The comedy sequences in the movie are really funny. The movie tries to address the problems and conflicts within the families. Acting wise all the characters do a decent job. Music is not that good but thankfully there aren't too many songs. Sonakshi Sinha sizzles in her guest appearance. Its a one time watch.
