The whole Moon has been divided into 5 zones (related to Earthen countries), and there is one monopoly consortium which sells the oxygen to everyone. Each zone is focused on extracting precious Helium-3. The lunar-suits provide self-gravity, and they create their own invisible helmet to contain the oxygen. The North-American zone is under the control of an Army General, and the civil workers are Earthen convicts. One of those criminals finds what seems to be a red lunar-flower with blue roots in the site of an inspection, on Moon surface. Few seconds after he touches that flower, there is a huge explosion in a nearby crater which began a moon-quake that swallows the convict and others. The appointed detective for investigation is the elder brother of the convict who touched the flower. The inquiry unveils a huge mystery that involves Russians, Indians, Japanese, the consortium, Helium-3, the convict, the fragile General's daughter, a mysterious technological gay spy Russian officer, ...

Great retro styled comedy!
From the first scene, I got the winks that director sent at us: This is a caper in genre of old space comedies and new/retro styling of Mad Men. You really have to have a sense of humor to enjoy it, and a good martini on your side table would not hurt either. The dialog dips into all rich clichés from detective noir flicks from 60's, then quotes the optimistic space "future" of 50's, only to let the plot twist its ankles on new age cynicism. I really think that at times that art of "quote" reached the level of Star Trek Next Generation scenes on Holodeck. I loved, loved, loved retro styling and settings! Practically every scene had a morsel for architects, interior and fashion designers, and movie critics with the eye on mid twenty century nostalgia. I loved that actors mostly embraced the new "old" style of dialog. I think that this movie will have a following, just like Serenity, so don't dis it yet. I gave it 8 for brave originality of trying to do exactly what it is supposed to do: entertain, and cut down on unnecessary heroics: I have already saved the word with my x-box, the day before. And yes, it calls for follow up series, so I really hope that networks will pick it up.
Unique and Awesome
Wooow, another funny and unpredictable sci-fi which is weird enough to glue us to our seats... People are unbelievable and enemies of progress sometimes, why in this boring TV show world would u rate this classic series 1 so it cannot continue to air, so now that people have contributed to the cancellation of this nice TV show, I guess we have to stick to the boring ones which r being aired. We could have rated it like 7 or 8 so we could know what's in episode 2 or 3. What is better than a sci-fi which has suspense, love and great comedy? Tell me!!! But no, people had to just contribute to its cancellation so now we are not going to get any better series to watch during the week... I can't believe some boring TV shows rather have high ratings and are still airing... Are you guys kidding me, aren't you people sick and tired of detective and cop TV shows already, we all know how it ends, the bad guy kills and the detectives or cops go and catch them, so predictable... I support shows like high moon, the after,z nation, Kyle xy and other sci-fi TV shows with action and much comedy rather than the ones with high ratings yet nothing to write home about... 10(excellent) for high moon... Nice romp, but seemed unfinished.
They basically threw everything but the kitchen sink into this film, but they kind of forgot the ending. :( As others have noted, it had enough turnabouts to set your head spinning, and any attempt to predict where it was going was bound to failure. I liked the noir-ish feel of the old space serials, clearly the makers of this film were heavily influenced by that genre. If you be looking for a serious SF show, you be lookin in the wrong place watching this - but if you were in the mood for a light romp with lots of plot twists, this should be just your cup 'o tea. I'd have given it an 8 if it had a more satisfactory ending.
Very cool sci fi
This was a delightful sci fi movie. Made for "TV".......I guess, considering that TV is produced almost as well as multi-million dollar high budget feature films these days. THis had humour as well as intrigue and mystery. Also there was an element of Marxist propaganda. The moon, as of course we all know, is hollow inside. The moon never changes rotation. THe moon is an old celestial planet that decayed on the outside long ago. Yet, humans still don't seem to remember the distant past when it was a flourishing life-pod used by our reptilian ancestors to make shipments of food and humans to the then-young Earth. Let us not forget the real origins of the moon. Let us not lose our Earth by mining away all its energy so that we have to look to the moon for our sustenance.
A fun movie for the whole family
*********SPOILER ALERT************************* It is what it is. Just a fun movie with lots of plots, misdirections, ands false clues.The plot devises were imaginative and unique. "Oh I'm locked up, what am i going to do to get away. I know my hands come off like thing's and run around and help me'. I was laughing my as off at all of the stuff going on like a guy that looks like Antonio Banderas as a ninja. Just enjoy the movie for what it is. JUST FUN! Anyone that says this is the worst "B" movie ever is just crazy. Just watch any movie with the guy that played Superman on' Lois and Clark' Almost forgot where is the rest of the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
