Poorly executed, There are long music videos with more depth.
I don't know where to begin. This film seems like the creator Damon Dash just wants to make a movie because he can. This film is filled with narration from Mr. Dash explaining things in the film instead of showing anything. Constant slow motion gun fights with music/opera playing. The story just shows generic themes and Mr. Dash's narration paints it however he intends without actually showing you anything. He obviously just put in friends/family/associates as cast just to keep it mostly in house. There are a couple real actors but mostly just people with no acting training that are just associates of Mr Dash. The movie is probably 60 percent slow motion gun fights and 30 percent narration with maybe 10 percent of actual story. With the exception of paid in full which Mr Dash did not direct or write, any movie Dame Dash is involved with is film school amateur class at best. I cannot recommend this movie to anyone, not even super fans of the genre. Its that bad.

If you were expecting something along the lines of state property, paid in full , Belly etc.. This is not even on the same radar. this is an embarrassment of a "movie" Im also really surpised Yeezy co-signed this mess. like someone previous stated, there are hip hop music videos that have more depth, plot, acting. Oh and, expect to hear the phrase "honor up" in just about every other sentence. SMFH

Waaaaay too much narrating. The story was all over the place. This was just a bunch of shooting and poorly improvised lines. Yo, Dame! The next time you make a film, "Honor Up" and care what you present to the people that support you. I only gave this 2 stars instead of one because it didn't look like it was shot with the home video camera we bought my father in the 90's.
Boring as previous movies over the years
Noting special, just the same old repeated cycle of boring past and present movies based on gang culture. This movie is similar to Belly; Get rich and Die trying etc. This movie is so boring, which will leave you in a coma. Due yourself a favour there is nothing here to hold your attention for more than an hour or bring anything new to this genre. Save the money for another rainy day!
