The story revolves around Theertha (Sudeep), son of a mathematics teacher Narayana Sastry (Anant Nag). While the father wants him to be a mathematician, Theertha takes a fancy to mechanics and always scores low in his father's subject. This irritates the father, who hates him even after the kid grows up. The father is so upset that he performs the last rites of Theertha and sends him out of his house. Life offers the worst to Theertha when the cops beat him up mercilessly. How does he overcome the situation?
