Sara (Sara Paxton) and her friends arrive at her family's lake cabin in Louisiana and almost immediately strip down to their swimsuits for a weekend of fun in the sun. But when football player Malik (Sinqua Walls) comes out from the salt-water lake with his arm torn off, the weekend mood quickly evaporates. The group assumes the injury was caused by a freak boat accident and decide they must take Malik to a hospital on the other side of the lake, fast. But as soon as they set out in a tiny speedboat, the friends discover that the lake is stocked with a huge number of massive, flesh-eating sharks! As they face one gory death after another, Sara and the others struggle desperately to escape the sharks, and stay alive long enough to reach the safety of dry land.
