  • Hmmmm.....

A teacher who is unhappy with her deadbeat boyfriend, her unsecure teaching position and her loss of youth conducts herself as a major B****. She is rude, hateful and uninterested in others. When a teacher, who happens to hold a golden ticket in life, shows up wanting to be friends, her attitude worsens. This girl has the perfect fiance, she's cheerful, young, beautiful and has no worries about the security of a teaching position because she is the daughter of a chairman on the board of education. She despises and is shady with the new teacher every chance she gets. She finds the new teacher having an intimate relationship with one of the students, who happens to be a talented dancer that she was interested in helping with scholarship competition, and decides to use that knowledge as a form of blackmail. Despite her knowledge about the inappropriate relationship with the new teacher, she chooses to help the student anyway. She helps him with dance lessons to prepare for the competition and finds herself liking the attention she is getting from the young man. This leads her down a dangerous road from which there is no return. Let me just say that the acting in this was good. I was hating this woman's attitude and pettiness. It left me with very little room to feel sorry for her. The story wasn't all that unique but I can't remember having ever seen it played out like this. This wasn't romantic or a thriller but it definitely was a dark drama. It plays out a little on the slow side but it kept me interested. I'd suggest it to a friend.

I'd definitely suggest this movie to people who can take in ugly character developments, with little to no happy moments. Such movies raise questionable feelings in our mind so please don't get too invested. MOVIE REVIEW It has a more or less realistic portrayal of how those particular characters would behave in real life. However, the ending felt a little dramatic. Not a single likeable character but then again I went in knowing that this is not a feel-good movie. So, I wasn't disappointed. I haven't watched a lot of similar movies so the plot, although nothing extraordinary, kept me interested till the end. When you're used to watching typical commercial movies, you get used to seeing at least one relatable character in every story but I found none here. Apart from that, it was an exaggerated version of what you'd expect real people to do but none of these things made the movie any less believable. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie but like most arthouse (like?) films, it leaves you a little depressed at the end. OPINION ON CHARACTERS When it comes to personal opinions on the characters, the protagonist earns a bad reputation since the beginning and compels you to hate her. The second teacher pops in with a much better first impression but as her affair with the student is revealed, she becomes a highly dislikeable character. When the first teacher engages in the affair too, apart from the other crappy stuff she does, she becomes even worse than the younger teacher. The murder at the end officially announces her as the worst character of all but she is indeed pitiful. The student isn't likeable at all either, but is much more forgivable. He has an affair with the teachers ultimately because he develops feelings for one and the adults are entirely at fault. Regardless of that, it shows that he wouldn't hesitate to use someone for his benefit, whether it's a girl his age or a teacher. He behaves like any high school kid with a somewhat corrupt moral compass and utter immaturity, and I don't hate him.
